To commemorate 125 years of the Guild, this beautifully produced book provides a fascinating insight into the work of each of its 130 members and explains why the Guild was first formed in 1884. It discusses the significance of championing the need to preserve the skills of our master craftsmen, in an age that was becoming increasingly industrialised. Included amongst the many practitioners is our own Mr Neil Stevenson who was photographed amongst the furniture we produced for Eltham Palace, the early home of the Courtauld family. Besides Neil, the book includes insights into a comprehensive list of professionals, ranging from Architects and Artists to Wallpaper Designers and Writers, individuals who possess shared professional interests and values.
