As part of N.E.J. Stevenson's support for local environmental projects, we have now agreed in principle to partner with The Warwickshire Wildlife Trust. The scheme is mutually beneficial, containing several facets that enable the on-going development of a shared understanding. As the scheme develops over the months and years ahead we will be better able to provide an insight into the whole process, but for now the first step in this relationship is N.E.J. Stevenson's commitment to plant 2,000 saplings on open woodland.
Warwickshire Wildlife Trust currently has over 50 nature reserves across the Midlands but with many of these operating as separate woodlands the Trust's plan is to join as many of them together as is feasible. In doing so, this will greatly assist many of the creatures found within them.
Over time we aim to develop this program to assist with the felling of densely populated areas, which will allow the tree canopy to open increasing the amount of natural light onto the woodland floor. This in turn will enable a diversity of woodland flora and fauna to establish themselves for the benefit of the bug and animal life.
The conservationists have kindly agreed to provide articles for all our regular readers to enjoy.
Later in the year we will provide details about the first stage in the planting program, but if you are keen to be involved in this please email your interest to info@nejstevenson.co.uk.
